AuroraAura soft & under the radar launch
0 comments — posted 2012 Sep by Jennifer Swanson

Today marks the soft launch of my new line AuroraAura. It's a higher end version of Kindlette, all hand made goods, of quality, mostly leather accessories and more underground/under the radar fashion. The official launch will be on my birthday, September 29th :) Some of the products which originally came out on Kindlette.com have been designed under the AuroraAura name and have been switched over to the new name.
Kindlette.com, overall, is a collection of designers. Kindlette branded goods are going to stay as products which are tailored to fun & funky festival goers who want that extra unique something. The goods aren't always hand made, such as supplies or vintage items, though most are.
Handcrafted studded leather belts on the way!

In the midst of bag making, I finished one of the new belts I'll be adding to the collection this season :) Be ready for these to be available in early October, if not sooner. I'm very excited to have accomplished so much this past weekend!
processing... processing.. processing... work in progress!

2:30pm Saturday: These are going to be awesome... I won't say what they are yet, but they are going to be awesome...

8:45pm Saturday: Ok they're bags... Still processing...!

6pm Sunday: Processed, cleaned and now on the work table.

A few more styles prepped to add a few more details and completed!

Look at how much these bags can hold! They all have 3 compartments and tie flaps inside to keep everything in place.
Hooray! Up & Running! / Kindlette & Renegade Craft Fair

So excited to have Kindlette officially back up and running with a new look and a fresh vibe. Kindlette is more of a collection of makers now, sharing their styles creativity and product. We'll be expanding the site with more product, info & hopefully additional makers over the next few months. If you are interested in becoming a featured maker on Kindlette.com, please contact me :)
I'm personally so incredibly thrilled to have received an email last night saying that Renegade Craft Fair is now accepting applications for their Holiday Events!! I missed out on the summertime RCF's and was pretty bummed. This time I can actually apply for a spot! I'll be working hard through the end of September to bang out as much of my best product as possible for my application. I'm excited about the work ahead.

Aug Wildfire down - next stop headed to Playa Del Fuego - so sad no Burning Man :*( - Figment DC

Aug WIldfire was such a blast as always. Besides all of the amazing people & spinning and fun, my favorite part was watching the epic Laser Tag battles going on in the background throughout the event. Seriously epic battles. (you probably had to be there). But when you see MC PuppyHammer literally dive out of the dining hall flat onto the pavement in the dark of the night you know that this is serious battle!
Originally Playa Del Fuego was going to be a miss, along with Burning Man this year (I am longing so badly to go I am having dreams about being back in the desert, ugh, want to go so badly!), but plans have opened up to at least get to PDF. Hooray! Burning Man 2013, here I come!
Next stop after that is Figment DC on September 29th, also my Birthday :D
August Wildfire: Good to be back! - Love you guys - Prop Earrings by Lilah

Kindlette was back in full swing this past weekend at Wildfire Retreat in Ashford, CT. It was deeply and truly heartwarming to see everyone. I love you guys, I love all of the amazing that happens as spinners/object manipulators and the purely and hilariously fun times we have in between.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth! If you loved the adorable Poi/Staves/Fans/Hoop earrings (so many people did!) they were handmade by Lilah Sloane. I'll hopefully have quite a few pairs available when Kindlette re-launches :D

A little underground info- Aiming to re-launch Kindlette over Labor Day Weekend!!! :)

With Love.

Kindlette will officially be at Wildfire Retreat, May 18-21 & Fahrenheit Flow Arts Festival June 8-10!!
The house of Kindlette has been very busy lately with making hoops, day jobs and prepping to move locations next weekend! We'll be moving into a new apt right on the Hudson River with year round views of Manhattan and the Empire State Building! We can't wait, but more than moving to a new exciting place, I can't wait to set up shop and get back to work. The beautiful springtime weather is energizing and it's time to put more product concepts into motion. Hoping to have some surprises to unveil at our upcoming events :D
Can't wait to see you guys and meet new friends at Wildfire & Fahrenheit!
Much Love & Happy Springtime Spinning!
A little failure is progress :)

As planned, I did get to working on one of my bags!!! This one will fit all styles of Kindlette hoops or any hoop that coils down to 24" or less. Even though I wasn't able to completely finish with a final usable design, I broke ground on the final concept, construction, materials & look :D As I was working on my original concept, and putting the finishing touches on what I wasn't completely happy with, the final concept fell into place. It's not always about success the first time around. My failure (which was more just something that wasn't up to my standards as a handbag designer) drove me into an even cuter concept with a more versatile application. A simply plain hoop bag that's just for hoops will collect dust. These bags will be usable as an everyday bag as well as a super cute travel hoop bag. Coming soon!!!

Lots of updates and new products went up this weekend! I added some new Fiiish styles, am thrilled about the new SuperBrites and Eclipses are now available!!! That's it for hoops for now, besides working on making neon fuchsia styles available in the SuperBrites & Eclipses, there isn't anything else in development at the moment. I'll be focusing now on more Fiiish colorations and also getting some of my totes, handbags, convertible belt bags, and prop bags in motion.
Eclipse Polypro Hoops - Shine All Night
0 comments — posted 2012 Jan by Jennifer Swanson
I couldn't sleep last night. Instead I basked in the glow of the new hoop development/design I've been working on, the Eclipse Hoop, that I propped up next to my bed. I wanted to see if it really would glow through the entire night, after one charge under one of my lamps at around 11pm, it did!! I woke up around 7am, room still dark & my hoop glowing. It was dim after a strong run of 8 hours, but still going! By 7:30am the sun was up & lighting my room too much to tell if the hoop was still glowing but I'd say that after 8 full hours, for my first test, it's a go.

I'll be offering the Eclipse's in 3 different colors. They are super light, comparable to my silk frosted polypros and glow really insanely & beautifully well after initially charging. Tonight I'll be playing with how long the initial awesome brightness lasts, but a quick boost from any light source will brighten it right back up again. It would definitely last a few performances in it's super bright state and would hands down last you until the sun comes up at a party or festival. Hope to have these up this weekend.
Fiiish Wick Covers!! Finally!
0 comments — posted 2012 Jan by Jennifer Swanson
YES! I was finally able to make a pair of my Fiiish wick covers!
(Almost done, just need to officially attached the eyes & toggles)

These are heavy duty to stand up to getting banged around and fully lined. I have a variety of awesome materials I can't wait to mix & match. These Fiiish's materials are made from a hand dyed Australian bamboo-cotton face and a colorful matchstick pure cotton print fabric. The lining is made of duck cloth for strength and they are washable!! I can't wait to pump out a few more pairs this weekend and get them up on Monday!
